Thepurpose of this position is to operate equipment associated with the elevatorprocess. Operators in this position are responsible for the effective andefficient operation of grain elevator. They will ensure that the equipment isfully operational and in good repair. Interacts on a regular basis with cornand soybean customers, Supervisor, Plant Manager or other elevator operators.
Operate all equipment associated with the grain elevator, including drags, conveyors, grain dryer, and truck dump.
Enter confined spaces under proper permit conditions and supervision.
Work outdoors in a dusty environment.
Understand and adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plantsafety.
Follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations.
Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment utilized by facility; determine immediate and long range needs formaintenance and repair work.
Enter work orders utilizing maintenance computer program.
Troubleshoot minor problems as required.
Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for environmental impact of the operation.
Attend various mandatory safety and department meetings.
Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved.
Assist other plant personnel as needed and will perform any other duty as requested by the Plant Manager.
Must be able to read/comprehend English
Basic math skills & mechanical aptitude
Demonstrated ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a plant job.
Able to do bending, stooping, climbing ladders, shoveling, working under extreme heat or cold, elevated work, operating machinery.
Able to do overtime and working holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.
Prior experience in production related work (1 year)
High School Graduate or equivalent
Able to operate heavy equipment
