Job Description:

Basic Purpose-

The Senior Logistics Margin Manager ensures achievement of the overall key performance indicator targets (KPIs) and corporate goals associated with margin management and champions the implementation of group initiatives, internal controls, and process improvements.

Description-

The candidate will lead a team of analysts whowill work closely with the field and business leaders to understand, scale and manage the cost structure of logistics that supports US Foods and customers.

The ideal candidate will have a unique mix of business intuition, analytical expertise, and financial knowledge enabling them to drive strategic decisions across the organization. Strong candidates will be excited about evolving margin strategy, analyzing large sets of data, and collaborating with a cross-functional group of business partners on high-impact initiatives.

This role will utilize systems and cross-functional communication to drive continuous improvement to improve and maintain KPIs while optimizing logistics performance based on changing network, revenue, costs, and transportation activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide leadership to logistics team to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of daily/weekly reports and department communication

Develop long-term strategies and significantly influence cross-functional teams on logistics margin processes and standards

Support Regional leadership team, category management, and logistics in all margin management related logistics activities

Lead team to identify, monitor and track performance for key initiatives that are critical to meeting annual operations plan targets (AOP)

Engage with various internal business partners to align priorities, develop strategic plans, and measure performance improvements

Lead and support the communication and transparency initiatives to drive results and maximize revenue

Provide recommendation on business opportunities and long-term strategy for across multiple departments

Lead team to perform root cause analysis and translate analysis into specific action items to develop longer term, permanent solutions

Support team to identify cost reduction efforts, revenue enhancements, and resolve complex margin issues

Perform various financial analysis and review of scorecard data to assist in identification of potential margin issues

Qualifications-

BS degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or any other analytically oriented major preferred. Master’s degree a plus.

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • 8 years work experience in analytics or consulting
  • 3 years of management or supervisor experience
  • Supply chain, inventory management, finance, logistics knowledge or experience a plus (NOT required)
  • Travel (10%)
