US Foods Sr. Manager, HR Shared Services in Rosemont, Illinois

Job Description:

Basic Purpose-

Responsible for the overall performance and management of the HR Operations team, including deployment of new capabilities and continuous improvement to existing services. Manage the transactional, administrative and call center activities performed by U.S. Foods’ HR Shared Services organization. Oversee data entry into our HR systems (includes but not limited to PeopleSoft, Taleo and Learning Management System), back office activities related to HR processes (includes but not limited to personnel administration, organizational data maintenance and compensation administration) and related recordkeeping. Ensure timely and quality resolution of inquires from employees, managers and division HR for standard HR policies and procedures.

Description-

Responsible for the strategic management and overall operations of the HR Shared Services (HRSS) team.

Effectively manage staff of supervisors, analysts and coordinators to ensure a high level of service, providing effective leadership, coaching and development opportunities.

Collaborate with third party vendors and internal functions to effectively manage compliance related processes such as leave administration and employment background checks.

Manage a team that performs transactional activities for centralized HR processes, as well as, respond to inquiries submitted via various channels (e.g., email, phone, etc.)

Manage various work streams for the HR Shared Services ongoing performance, including call center, data entry and back office processing

Resolve complex and escalated cases from team

Provide reporting and metrics to Senior HR and Shared Business Services (SBS) Leadership to monitor the utilization, accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of HR Shared Services; metrics include but are not limited to first call resolution, data accuracy, and time to resolve open cases

Serve as a liaison to the HRIS department, centralized Payroll department and other HR departments in order to resolve cross functional issues

Continually assess the impact of in-scope HR business processes on the effective management of HR data and transactional efficiency in order to identify continuous improvement opportunities

Partner with HR and SBS leadership team, as well as, other HR functional areas to identify, recommend and implement opportunities for process improvement in alignment with HR and SBS strategy and initiatives

Participate in cross-functional project teams as assigned

Qualifications-

Education/Training :

Bachelor's degree required. PHR certification preferred.

Related Experience/Requirements:

A minimum of 7 years of related Human Resource experience either in HRSS, HRIS, Benefits or HR Generalist function required. 3-5 years supervisory expereince required.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, process and problem-solving skills

  • Proven experience working through known and unforeseen challenges and obstacles to achieve goals

  • Experience interpreting policies to make time sensitive decisions with little direction

  • Familiarity with HR practices and policies

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to effectively address customer concerns while also maintaining adherence to standards

  • Broad HR systems exposure, Workday a plus

  • Proficiency required using Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel and Access

  • Must possess highly developed written, oral communication and management and training skills
