This position is responsiblefor the administration of estate settlement and personal trust accounts, overseeing effective and efficient administration and communication, and ensuring adherence to external and internal compliance requirements and time standards. This position requires regular in-person meetings with clients, clients’ families and representatives, estate and trust beneficiaries and centers of influence as well as contact via mail, telephone, email and fax. Attendance at court hearings associated with client accounts will be necessary from time to time. This position requires advanced knowledge of estate settlement / probate practice. This position also requires advanced knowledge of and ability to review and understand complex estate planning documents, as well as advanced skills in administration of personal trusts.

  • Act as in-person contact to clients, clients’ families and representatives, beneficiaries, courts and centers of influence related to the book of business.

  • Communicate regularly with clients, clients’ families and representatives, beneficiaries, courts and centers of influence regarding the administration of estate settlement and personal trust accounts.

  • Communicate regularly with clients, clients’ families and representatives, beneficiaries, courts and centers of influence to retain recapturable assets distributed to estate and trust beneficiaries.

  • Coordinate with support personnel and Trust Tax, Trust Operations, Investment Management, Special Assets and Compliance teams to ensure proper completion of work flow.

  • Prepare and/or approve annual administrative account reviews and resolve exceptions.

  • Handle day-to-day incoming mail, calls, emails and faxes from all parties associated with accounts.

  • Prepare letters and other forms of correspondence directed to clients, clients’ families and representatives, vendors and centers of influence.

  • Oversee preparation and execution of account opening and closing documentation.

  • Review daily trial balance for all accounts.

  • Review and approve for payment vendor invoices.

  • Work with support staff to process changes or instruct Trust Operations to process changes on the trust accounting system to various accounts when necessary.

  • Review daily transactions (cash movement, bill pay, etc.).

  • Respond to audit, compliance and examination requests.

  • Complies with all applicable federal and state regulations.

**_Education and Work Experience


Minimum Required



Juris Doctor (JD) and a minimum of five years of experience in the area of estate settlement; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Education/Experience

Experience in private practice as an attorney a plus.
