Role Overview :

The Merchant Services Small Business Statement Analyst position is a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for Small Business sales associates and will provide statement review and education to increase knowledge and skill level.

The Statement Analyst works with Merchant Business Consultants providing detailed analysis of merchant processing statements, pricing models and business cases submitted by Merchant Business Consultants to determine merchant profitability, adherence of pricing strategy and ensuring effective and appropriate pricing for prospective clients.

Assists with the evaluation and collaboration of overall pricing execution of the sales teams to ensure the pricing is in adherence with the overall strategy and minimizes the potential for revenue compression, retention risks, escalations and client attrition.

Provides expertise to Leaders to identify opportunities to enhance front line expertise.

In the complex world of payments, this individual will act as an expert in the payments industry possessing an in depth knowledge of pricing and statement analysis.

This individual must demonstrate a deep and broad understanding of the business and external marketplace to ensure Merchant Services is maintaining a competitive position while balancing the client experience and opportunity.

Key Responsibilities :

Deep understanding and knowledge of merchant pricing, software, gateways, security as well as expert industry knowledge in Healthcare, Retail, Restaurant and Business to Business.

The ability to understand technical solutions, manage sales/pricing practices.

Establish rapport with Business Consultants via verbal and written communication.

Ensures timely delivery and collaboration of statement analysis with Business Consultants.

Utilize the company’s proprietary revenue and profitability systems to complete statement analysis and pricing model comparisons.

Provide merchant pricing guidance expertise to Sales associates including acquiring, equipment, non-processing fees etc.

Stay current on bank product offerings, wholesale costs, MSRP and retail pricing.

Identify and assist in the implementation, as well as documentation of process improvements and best practices.

Is organizationally savvy; works in tandem with Finance, Product and Pricing Partners to ensure organizational goals and strategies are maintained

  • 3+ years Payments and industry experience

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills

  • In depth knowledge of merchant processing statements

  • Team player with proven ability to interact well with others

  • The ability to influence and ensure successful outcomes

  • Proven ability to review and coach complex deals driving timely decisions

  • Ability to work independently

  • One or more years work experience in Sales, Retention or Client Service Role
