Job Description:

Leads multiple projects that are significant in scope and impact. Serve as a SME and use that expertise to influence the optimal design and delivery of projects. Expected to lead by influence and drive strategic adoption. Demonstrated progressive growth in skill and responsibilities in various roles. Has extensive professional and functional knowledge developed through financial industry experience. Key responsibilities include: Provide subject matter expertise in process design, tool development or methodology validation ; Design and roll out analytical and technical tools for validations of new models/methodology; Provides guidance and mentoring to junior analysts as needed; Be a solution provider who can leverage the knowledge and experience to deliver a high quality end product; and Understands financial products across all asset classes and has extensive knowledge of technical implementations. Posses advanced degree in physic, applied mathematics, statistics/probability or another heavy quantitative discipline.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Post Volcker implementation, regulatory expectation is that each Volcker Trading Desk (VTD) Approved Product List (APL) will be monitored for unapproved products/instruments and activities on a daily basis.

  • The Quantitative Services (QS) will be responsible for the overall governance of the Volcker reporting, which includes daily escalation of issues / exceptions, and management of monthly reporting and tracking.

  • Perform governance of the Volcker reporting, which includes daily escalation of issues / exceptions, and management of monthly reporting and tracking: ? Daily monitoring of trades at Volcker Trading Desk (VTD) level to make sure each trade is booked in line with its approved Legal Entity.

  • Daily monitoring of trades at Volcker Trading Desk (VTD) level to make sure each desk is only trading approved products.

  • Daily monitoring of trades at Volcker Trading Desk (VTD) level to make sure each trade is booked in line with its approved activity.

  • Investigating any product mapping or other data quality issues

  • Escalation of issues and exceptions to Global Market Risk and VTD heads

  • Overall governance of monthly reporting and tracking of VTD issues.

Qualifications:

  • Highly analytical

  • A self-starter

  • Comfortable working independently with significant amounts of data

  • Quantitative modeling experience

  • Maintain close attention to detail, look to understand process

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of handling multiple priorities

  • Able to build strong working relationships with stakeholders including Model Risk Management, Market Risk, Technology, COO’s, LOB Middle Office, and other business partners

  • Able to demonstrate process leadership and ownership

  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred in Business, Finance, Mathematics or Economics

  • Several years’ experience working with OTC financial products

  • Superior proficiency working with Excel spreadsheets

  • Experience working with VBA and SQL

  • Broad and general understanding of trade attributes and life cycle events

  • Ability to consistently deliver
