Job Description:

The AB (Asset-Based) Portfolio Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of asset-based structured loans for Bank of America Business Capital customers. Bank of America Business Capital, part of the Wholesale Credit division, provides leveraged loans in a variety of industries including manufacturers, distributors and service companies. The asset-based loan credit facilities range from $5 million to over $2 billion in size and are collateralized primarily by accounts receivable and inventory. The AB Portfolio Specialist is responsible for actively monitoring financial and collateral trends and recommending appropriate action. Responsibilities also include reviewing requests for loan modifications, analyzing financial performance, negotiating terms, drafting proposals, reviewing documents, and preparing recommendations for approval. The AB Portfolio Specialist is an active member of the client team interfacing directly with the client, participates in building the client relationship. Must be good at managing multiple responsibilities in order to meet the time deadlines of both the client and the bank. Communicates frequently with Relationship Managers, product partners and legal counsel. Capable of handling sole lender relationships and bought participations while working closely with the AB Portfolio to enhance skill set to manage syndicated credits and the most sensitive accounts. Some travel required to meet with clients and reports to AB Portfolio Manager.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of banking or financial industry experience in Commercial/Asset Based Lending, Credit and Sales .

  • Sound financial statement analytical skills

  • Basic Understanding of legal documentation

  • Must be detail focused and well organized

  • Proactive/confident communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with senior management, clients, attorneys, etc.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced business environment with strong time management skills

  • Computer proficiency in Word and Excel with Power Point a plus Desired Skills :

  • Some audit, underwriting or account management

  • Some basic understanding of legal documentation

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration
