Advisor Development Division Executive (ADDE) Job Description

The Advisor Development Division Executive (ADDE) is responsible for leading and coordinating the implementation and execution of the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Financial Advisor Development Program (FADP) at the Division level. The ADDE directly manages the aligned Advisor Development Managers (ADM), holding them accountable to achieve market level results, while maintaining focus on national program consistency. This position is ideal for a forward thinking, successful individual interested in demonstrating and enhancing their leadership skills.
Strategy, Communication & Accountability
Maintain close working relationships with the Division Executive, Divisional Leadership Team, Market Executives and Recruiters to develop, execute and achieve program goals
Drive a consistent feedback loop with regular communication to and from the Division to the National Advisor Development Program and fellow ADDEs
Establish routine communications with Advisor Development Managers(ADMs) and FADP Coordinators; ensure clarity of roles and expectations
Ensure consistent messaging of FADP strategy, curriculum, tools, and resources across the Division
Coach Market Executives on optimal FADP operations and execution
Partner with Division Recruiters to review pipeline, needs and gaps within markets and offices
Ensure local FADP onboarding and training curriculum is in place
Promote diversity and inclusion through all aspects of the training program
Accountable to drive Division level results; performance ratings and discretionary compensation will be directly tied to FADP scorecard results (what) and division and national leadership (how)
Advisor Development & Training
Day to day management of aligned Advisor Development Managers in pursuit of best in class advisor training programming across the division
Actively coach, train, and share resources with Market Executives, Advisor Development Managers, and FADP Coordinators to support FADP success
Assist in delivering division level FADP recognition and participation in acquisition activities to support the firm’s growth strategy
Collaborate with Practice Management Consulting Group (PMCG) to support team development for FADP participants
Candidates are strongly preferred to currently hold Series 7 AND Series 66 (or Series 63 AND Series 65), Series 9 AND Series 10 (or Series 8) equivalent licenses. If applicant does not currently hold these licenses, these licenses must be acquired within a specific timeframe
10+ years leading, coaching, and managing high performing sales teams within the financial services industry
Has a strong understanding of the advisor development experience and the firm’s strategy for growth
Has a strong working knowledge of all aspects of the National Advisor Development Program
Possesses strong interpersonal and motivational skills
Has the ability to leverage the broader enterprise and navigate the MLWM organization
Generates and articulates thought leadership on FADP development; communicates compelling sense of purpose and direction
Skillfully influences field leadership and enterprise partners
Exercises sound judgment and experience to make timely and effective decisions
Decisions reflect diverse perspectives
Incorporates industry conditions, market trends, organizational strategies and objectives into analysis
Builds a network of trusted relationships with key partners
Strong planning and execution skills including resource/budget management and rigorous follow-up
Skillfully manages conflict and reaches solutions that benefit the organization
Shares conclusions and tests recommendations with key stakeholders before executing
Bachelor’s degree or higher, strongly preferred
