Bank of America Lease Pricing Specialist-Renewable Energy in Chicago, Illinois
Quantitatively minded associate to join the Pricing & Portfolio Analysis team as an analytical support partner for Bank of America’s Renewable Energy Finance team who are engaged in making a broad range of renewable energy focused investments (including partnership investments, true leases, project debt, and other products). Associate will be primarily responsible for the quantitative support of REF’s existing and growing partnership investment portfolio, including updating tracking models quarterly to reflect actual project performance to date, and may also be asked to work on occasional strategic analytic assignments. This is an excellent growth opportunity for an associate with strong quantitative skills to transition in to the high-demand renewable energy sector and to develop a proficiency in the analysis and modeling of related products.
Associate will possess: sound analytical and financial modeling skills, including proficiency with Excel; demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a team and to communicate across disciplines; and strong time management skills. Technical expertise in partnership & lease tax issues, accounting or regulatory capital calculations; and/or knowledge and understanding of a variety of partnership / asset finance products is preferred but not required.
Associate will be required to: maintain, update and run complex financial models; extract, organize, and utilize relevant financial and operating performance data from numerous sources including financial statements, operating reports, and tax returns in order to quantify and track the performance of existing portfolio investments; interact with external clients to identify and correct discrepancies in source data and related models; regularly provide the created accounting & performance output to key partners including Finance and Credit; prepare presentation materials for internal and external presentation; and prepare associated document schedules and pricing exhibits.
Associate will: act as an analytical resource with respect to the existing portfolio of renewable energy transactions, and create and provide detailed financial & accounting information to management and other partners on a quarterly basis; provide support in identifying and working through structural, tax and accounting issues; and be a point of contact for Credit, Risk, Finance, Tax, and Operations on economic / tax / structural / accounting questions or issues related to the renewable energy portfolio.
Bachelor's Degree – preferably in finance, economics, mathematics, theoretical science, accounting or other business concentration.
Prior Work Experience:
3+ years of prior work experience in a quantitative role. Partnership, Leasing or other Structured Asset Finance Pricing or Portfolio Management experience or prior experience with modeling renewable energy investments (or similar) is preferred but not required. Candidates with less applicable work experience, or with related work experience in financial statement analysis, corporate tax return preparation, complex accounting, or similar will also be considered.

An understanding of fundamental tax, accounting, and financial principles which could be applied to the partnership, lease, and related asset finance structures common in the renewable energy marketplace
Highly diligent, with a keen eye for detail and a low tolerance for mistakes.
Good work ethic, with tolerance for late hours and working to urgent turn-around times.
Expertise in use of Excel and/or specialized tools for cash flow optimization and analysis. Proficiency in Warren & Selbert ABC or other partnership models is advantageous but not required.

Ability to work independently, and efficiently manage multiple on-going projects / tasks.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to communicate complex or technical concepts to a diverse audience.
Confidence to question transaction flaws or inefficient solutions and pro-actively raise & resolve concerns.
Demonstrated business acumen / commercial awareness.
Ability to operate as part of a team.
Willingness to travel (<10%).
