Bank of America Attorney-Fixed Income- Structured Products and Asset Backed Lending in Chicago, Illinois

Job Description:

In-house attorney position providing legal coverage for Structured Products and Asset Backed Lending within Global Banking and Markets. Primary responsibilities include coverage of (1) business areas that originate asset backed loans from a variety of assets classes with an emphasis on Capital Commitment transactions; and (2) business areas that provide underwriting and structuring for securitizations of a wide variety of asset classes.

Attorney would be responsible for: reviewing agreements, offering memorandum, prospectuses and other documentation; developing and approving transactions and policies; structuring and documenting new transactions; managing external counsel; and conducting regulatory analysis and advising on issues arising under applicable securities laws and regulations.

Enterprise Description

Responsible for the analysis of complex legal issues and implications on matters of significant impact to GBAM's Fixed Income businesses. Provides advice on new or existing products or services. Coordinates the work of outside legal counsel on related projects. Supervises activities of other legal department staff, including other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. Individuals in this position typically have eight or more years of experience since admission to the Bar. May manage others

Required Skills:

  • Must have at least 5 years of law practice experience, including significant external or in-house experience at a major law firm or financial institution.

  • Admission to at least one state bar (active/good standing)

  • JD or LLM/LLB

Desired Skills:

  • Secured lending and securitization experience.
